According to law with date 05.07.2000 of AR "About partial changes in administrative division of some districts of the Republic of Azerbaijan" President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was created administrative territorial unit Korgoz.
During 1932-33s, people lived here for mining oil, development of oil-well. Azerbaijan Oil Department was located in AZNS dwelling massif; therefore it was named AZNS (i.e. Azneftstroy).
