About    Duvanni station was founded in 1893-94s. First oil from Duvanni station was exported in 1901-05s. First exploratory oil well was put into operation in Duvanni in 1935-37. Duvanni was part of Hajigabul structure in 1945-49s. Duvanni district was founded in 1950-54s (including: Sanqachal, Cheyildagh, Alat, Atbulaq settlements). It again entered in Molotov (Garadagh) district in 1956.    Settlement was organized city-kind settlement in 1951. Name of Duvanni was changed to Gabustan in 1972. Present-day Gobustan was residence of ancient people. Preserving figures on rock in Gobustan State Reserve are visual proof for it.
