In spite Mehemmedi village is new in comparison of other villages of Apsheron, its locating area informs us about the ancient age. Father of History Herodotus had been in the famous “Yanardagh” and had noted about residence new it, called these residences as “Nest of Wolf” and “Kirmakinin”.

Based on local inhabitants’ information, in 1112, during occupation of Mongols the countrymen moved to the south of Azerbaijan and began living in Mehemmedi, Shahsevenli, Garadaghli, Gasimli villages. There are some opinions about relation between Muganli family and Mamedli division. The name is called like Mehemmedi among the local inhabitants.

Mehemmedi village is different among other villages of Apsheron, because of its geographical location. So, in spite of other villages are near to each other, in all side of this village are sowing areas and that’s why Mehemmedi is located far from other villages.
